Drawing & Animation
Penny Sharp is an artist & animator based in Glasgow. She graduated in 1994 with a BA Honours in Fine Art Printmaking from Glasgow School of Art and again in 2003 with an MPhil in advanced 2D/3D animation. Drawing is central to her practice and typically her work is multi-layered occupying a place somewhere between medieval tapestry and 60’s American underground comics.
Sharp has been an active artist member of Glasgow Independent Studio since 2003, and served as Director since 2009 till present. She is also an elected artist member of the Glasgow Society of Women Artists since 2012, an artist member of British Women Artists since 2010 and previously served on the executive board as Secretary for the Scottish Artists Union between 2005-10.

Sharp's work has been published in 5 editions of "Team Girl Comic" (small press 2010-2012)," the first edition of “28 Drawings Later” (small press 2011), first edition of "Big Antidote" (published by Cure Studio 2010), and as ilustrator of "Sewn Up" written by Aberdonian poet Lesley Benzie (published by Wisdom Teeth 2001)
