INITIALLY, MY WORK IS EXECUTED INTO SKETCHBOOKS WHILST I AM ON A TRAIN OR A BUS, AS I PERSONALLY FIND TRAVELING CAN AFFORD AN INTENSE THINKING AND/OR MEDITATIVE PERIOD, ACCESSING BOTH THE CONSCIOUS AND UNCONSCIOUS. THESE TRAVELING DRAWINGS AND IDEAS FORM THE BASIS OF SCALED DRAWINGS FOR MY STUDIO PRACTICE WHICH ARE EXECUTED ON CANVAS, PAPER, CLOTHING OR SILK, MANY WITH HAND-STITCHING AND MULTIPLE LAYERS OF MEDIUM, EVOKING THE EPHEMERAL NATURE OF THOUGHTS AND MEANING. FOR ME, THE PHYSICAL WORLD REVOLVES AROUND SENSATIONS AND EXPERIENCES WHICH I EXPLORE IN MY WORK, EVOKING MEMORIES AND FEELINGS THROUGH THE USE OF VARIOUS MEDIA. EACH PIECE OF WORK CAN TAKE HOURS, DAYS, EVEN WEEKS TO EXECUTE. THIS INVESTMENT IN TIME IS IMPORTANT AND RELATES DIRECTLY TO THE FORMING OF A DRAWING WHERE THE EMPIRICAL LINES OF A DRAWING CONVEY THE EPHEMERAL NATURE OF THOUGHTS AND SENSATIONS IN A MORE CONCRETE AND TANGIBLE FORM
