Gibbs’current practice involves an ongoing exploration of and commitment to making sculpture, electronics and sound to induce individual or collective actions and expanding the relational and experiential nature of these diverse elements.

Recent group exhibitions and performances include a show at Intermedia Space, Glasgow, October 2008 with Pio Abad and Jon Thomson and a performance at Instal 09, The Arches, Glasgow 2009. Forthcoming projects include participation in the group exhibition Self-made Cavalcade,  for the Edinburgh International Arts Festival, August 2009 then touring to Akademie Galerie Munich, November 2009, and the initiation of a temporary public art intervention  to be situated on pre-development land in Pacific Quay, Glasgow in September 2009. Allison was awarded a Glasgow City Council Visual Artist’s Grant in 2008.

JD Hollingshead

English-born American, works in Glasgow. Completed his MFA at the Glasgow School of Art in 2007 after a BFA from Pratt Institute of Art in Brooklyn, in 2004.  His practice plays with the connection between identity, time, and place that forms experience. He works with the tangents of this nexus, using different devices to mark out the ways in which each of these might effect the other. Similar to physics, he applies conceptual coefficients to scenarios to find answers to questions he doesn'tinitially know the answer to. They manifest as allegories and anecdotes, live actions, objects, relics, and sites of events.

He is currently showing at Hors Jeux, in Beauvais, and has shown at Place 01, during Glasgow International and at Tramway, at ArtNews Project/Gallerie Metro in Berlin, Kunstvlaai Art Fair in Amsterdam, and North Hall Gallery in Brooklyn. He has worked for Jim Lambie and Douglas Gordon, and is currently a freelance fabricator, project manager, and art director.
