Fallopé & The Tubes first LIVE Glasgow show.

Performance at 8pm sharp, Glasgow Project Room.

Thursday 4th September.

5 artists collaborate over 10 days in the Project Room to create 'Fallopé and The Tubes', their debut live performance. The project begin in January 2014 at Inshriach Bothy where the group was born in a secluded rural retreat. Over the past 10 days the group has been re-united, focusing on developing the sound and aesthetic of the performance through a reactive and visceral process including all night games of exquisite corpse and early morning noise yoga.

After Hours - Aideen Doran and Fiona Chambers

Wed 2 Jul 2014

‘After Hours’ combines new sculptural, video and installation works created by Aideen Doran and Fiona Chambers, resulting from a process of discussion and research into the collapsing distinctions between labour and leisure. This work focuses on creating dialogues around the dual role of the artist as both a producer and a labourer in an information economy, exploring the potential of the artist’s labour to resist the imperative of productivity, and to subvert the purposes of technology. Both artists’ practices embrace aspects of labour-intensive craft and a creatively indolent misuse of time, mining the tensions between the two.

Decade

Wed 19 Feb 2014

DECADE

Opening February 22nd 6 - 9pm. Open February 23rd 12 am - 5pm.

Statistically speaking, there are disappointing prospects for art students. Even from the best art schools in the country. Ten years after graduating only very few of the former students stay committed to making art. On the other hand, the diversity and creativity that comes from 4 years of art school may enrich an entire life.

The year of 2003 produced artists, musicians, gallerists and many more. Glasgow Project Room are housing a bundle of them for a group show, visualising how a decade has shaped their art forms. Furthermore, Decade is a celebration and a reunion of a group held together only by some years in some buildings on Garnet Hill in Glasgow. The show will assemble and research the expansion of individual practices, both in content and form, as well as forming a measurement of time and place.

Most welcome!
